"When Trashed From Security" Effects — and Playing Straight Out of Security
Direct trashes vs. trashes after a reveal
"When this card is trashed from your security stack" — BT15-037 Gatomon, BT15-084 Kari Kamiya — only fires on a DIRECT trash out of security. Meanwhile, "when your security stack decreases" fires even when the card is PLAYED out of security. Two near-identical trigger conditions, two different behaviors.
"Trashed from security" = direct trashes only (BT15-037 Q2518 / BT15-084 Q2583)
BT15-037 Gatomon's "when this card is trashed from your security stack by an effect, you may play this card without paying the cost" activates only when the card is trashed **directly** from security.
- Q2518: if the card is trashed while it's being revealed or looked at, the effect can NOT activate (official answer)
- Q2583: BT15-084 Kari Kamiya behaves the same
Why: "trashed from security" means going straight from sitting in the security stack to the trash. Once revealed or looked at first, the later trash no longer counts as "directly from security."
- Q2518: if the card is trashed while it's being revealed or looked at, the effect can NOT activate (official answer)
- Q2583: BT15-084 Kari Kamiya behaves the same
Why: "trashed from security" means going straight from sitting in the security stack to the trash. Once revealed or looked at first, the later trash no longer counts as "directly from security."

Playing out of security fires "security decreased" (BT15-037 Q2519 / BT15-084 Q6240)
The "when your security stack decreases" effects on BT15-037 Gatomon and BT15-084 Kari Kamiya also fire when the card itself is PLAYED out of security by some effect.
- Q2519: when another effect plays this card from security, its own "when your security stack decreases" effect activates
- Q6240: same for BT15-084 Kari Kamiya
Why (official answer): played directly from security, the card leaves — the stack decreases — at the same moment it's played, so "when your security stack decreases" is satisfied.
Played from security = the stack shrinks = simultaneous with the play = the trigger condition holds.
- Q2519: when another effect plays this card from security, its own "when your security stack decreases" effect activates
- Q6240: same for BT15-084 Kari Kamiya
Why (official answer): played directly from security, the card leaves — the stack decreases — at the same moment it's played, so "when your security stack decreases" is satisfied.

- "When this card is played from your security stack" → a direct security → battle area move
